The PLDT High Speed Hitters continue to be on point in the PVL on Tour after sweeping the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles in the knockout quarterfinals.
The PLDT High Speed Hitters asserted their dominance against the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles after securing a clean sweep, 25–21, 25–21, 25–19, in the PVL on Tour quarterfinals at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City on Thursday, August 7.
This marks the High Speed Hitters’ first entry into the semifinals since the 2024 Reinforced Conference.
Savi Davison made her presence felt in her first game back as a starter for the team since coming back from her Canada break, finishing with 28 points on 50% attack efficiency.
The Fil-Canadian spiker powered PLDT to a 5-1 start in the third set, which ultimately spelled the difference.
Jovy Prado and Kianna Dy would go on to extend the High Speed Hitters’ lead by as many as seven points at 14-7.
ZUS Coffee, led by Jovelyn Gonzaga and Fiola Ceballos, tried to mount a comeback, cutting the deficit to just three points at 14-17.
But PLDT came right back firing, going on a 5-0 run to distance themselves for good.
Dy and Davison would close the game out, securing the High Speed Hitters’ fourth straight-sets victory in the preseason tilt.
PLDT will await the quarterfinal winner between the Creamline Cool Smashers and Farm Fresh Foxies.
