The Farm Fresh Foxies get back on track after downing the Capital1 Solar Spikers in straight sets to advance to the PVL on Tour quarterfinals.
The Farm Fresh Foxies will make their way to the quarterfinals of the PVL on Tour after sweeping the Capital1 Solar Spikers, 25–20, 25–15, 25–21, at the Dasmariñas Arena in Cavite on Saturday, August 2.
Alohi Robins-Hardy orchestrated the win for the Foxies, who bounced back from their straight-set defeat to the Nxled Chameleons in Cebu City. The Fil-Am setter finished with 15 excellent sets to go along with five points.
In control for the entire game, Farm Fresh blasted to a 7–2 start in the third frame. The Foxies would build their biggest lead in the set at eight points, 15–7.
Capital1, however, would come roaring back with a furious 10-1 run to snatch the lead at 17-16.
Tied at 20-all, Farm Fresh would pull away for good after a string of Capital1 errors, as Jolina Dela Cruz sealed the 5-1 run with a cross-court kill.
The Solar Spikers, who were without head coach Jorge De Brito as well as Alas Pilipinas stars Bella Belen and Leila Cruz, will end their preseason campaign without a win.
Meanwhile, Farm Fresh will face the Creamline Cool Smashers in the quarterfinals next Saturday, August 9, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.
