AC Miner enters the 2025 PVL Rookie Draft aiming to grow both on and off the court, drawing confidence from her final UAAP season with the Ateneo Blue Eagles.
AC Miner is ready to test herself at the next level.
Fresh off a solid final season with Ateneo, the versatile middle blocker has entered the 2025 PVL Rookie Draft, aiming to build on the momentum she gained as one of the Blue Eagles' most reliable performers in UAAP Season 87.
“I look forward to learning more skills sa team na mapupuntahan ko and to improve myself, not just on the court but also outside of it,” said Miner, who joined 50 other hopefuls during Day 1 of the Draft Combine at Paco Arena.
Along with Lyann De Guzman, Miner was one of the few bright spots for the Blue Eagles amid an injury-riddled season.
After switching from middle to opposite this past season, Miner credited the position change for giving her the final push to go pro.
“Part 'yung na-gain ko na confidence coming from this season as an opposite. 'Yun na lang 'yung nagiging hadlang para mag-join ako ng draft—'yung confidence na kaya kong mag-improve to the next level,” she shared.
Though she registered as a middle blocker, Miner is open to adjusting based on team needs.
“I signed up as a middle lang this year, pero if gagawin akong opposite ng team, then we’ll see.”
With many fans projecting her to be a top-three selection, possibly even the No. 2 overall pick, Miner expressed gratitude for the vote of confidence.
“I thank the people for having confidence in me na kaya kong ipakita kung anong meron ako this draft and sa team na mapupuntahan ko,” she said. “Very grateful na they think of me as a top pick this year, especially with a heavy-loaded draft.”
