Ateneo’s Lyann De Guzman and AC Miner are officially joining the 2025 PVL Draft after standout seasons in UAAP Season 87.
Ateneo Blue Eagles standouts Lyann De Guzman and AC Miner have officially thrown their names into the 2025 PVL Rookie Draft.
The two confirmed their decision during an appearance on One Sports’ Starting Lineup, marking the start of their transition to the professional ranks.
“Actually, for me, I’ll be happy to cheer them [Ateneo] on from the sidelines this year,” said Miner.
“Nasabi ko rin naman sa kanila na I’ll go na sa next chapter ko. I’m really happy to be an Atenean. I’m very proud to be an Atenean,” De Guzman added. “To the Ateneo community, sobrang thank you talaga sa suporta. We really appreciate it, as in sobra."
Despite Ateneo's injury-plagued campaign in UAAP Season 87, De Guzman and Miner emerged as key contributors for the Blue Eagles, helping steer the team to a 5-9 finish.
Miner ranked fifth in the league in spiking efficiency at 35.39%, while finishing eighth overall in scoring with 190 points.
De Guzman wasn’t far behind, tallying 187 total points for ninth-best in Season 87.
Following their final game in Season 87, De Guzman and Miner admitted that they were still open to using their final playing year in the collegiate league.
