UE remains the only winless team in the tournament, sitting at 0–5 at the bottom of the standings.

The Red Warriors are also desperate to put an end to an 11-game losing streak dating back to last season.

UE is coming off a 77–62 loss to Adamson, a game in which the Red Warriors erased a 20-point halftime deficit but went cold in the fourth quarter, scoring only four points.

John Abate led UE with 17 points and seven rebounds, while DJ Robles added 14.
