Jason Brickman makes his much-awaited PBA debut when Meralco takes on Converge to open their Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup campaign Wednesday, March 18.

Fresh off a semifinal run in the Philippine Cup, Meralco is banking on Brickman’s steady hand to orchestrate its offense.

The seventh overall pick already got a taste of high-level competition with his new team, suiting up in the Bolts’ EASL outing against the Ryukyu Golden Kings.

With additional reinforcements like Javee Mocon and rookie Vince Magbuhos, Meralco looks deeper and more versatile heading into the conference.

Anchoring the Bolts’ campaign is import Marvin Jones, a 7-footer whose resume includes a 2025 FIBA Europe Cup championship.

His presence in the paint should give Meralco a strong interior advantage on both ends, complementing Brickman’s playmaking.

The Bolts formally announced Jones’s signing during the recent PBA All-Star festivities.

On the other side, Converge continues to find its rhythm with two-time Finals MVP Mikey Williams.

The FiberXers opened their campaign with a win over Macau but stumbled in a 100-111 overtime loss to Terrafirma, highlighting both their offensive firepower and defensive inconsistencies.

Against a disciplined Meralco squad, Converge will need better cohesion as it integrates Williams into its system.

Earlier in the day, the Terrafirma Dyip aim to stay unbeaten as they clash with the Blackwater Bossing at 5:15 p.m.

The Dyip have emerged as one of the early surprises of the conference, riding momentum from a hard-fought overtime victory over Converge.

Blackwater, meanwhile, is still searching for its first win after a narrow 81-84 defeat to the NLEX Road Warriors.

The Bossing have been competitive but struggled to close out games, something they must address quickly against a surging Terrafirma side.
