Jason Brickman joined the Meralco Bolts just a month before the PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup unfurls.
Jason Brickman did not seem to be in a sunny mood when he joined Meralco coach Luigi Trillo and Justin Brownlee in the East Asia Super League press conference Wednesday night, Feb. 11.
It was understandable.
Brickman wound up scoreless in his debut with the Bolts, as they suffered a 79-88 loss to the Ryukyu Golden Kings in a match where a postseason berth was on the line.

Meralco, thus, exited the regional contest, which also serves as a qualifier for the Basketball Champions League Asia.
Despite the loss, Brickman said he was happy to get his feet wet with Meralco, which picked him seventh overall in the Season 50 draft.
“(It’s) my first game here with the Bolts. Just happy to be here,” Brickman said.

Before signing a one-year deal with the Bolts, Brickman led the Abra Weavemasters to their maiden MPBL championship.
Now the former US NCAA Division 1 leader in assists is bent on helping Meralco achieve the same in the Commissioner’s Cup which kicks off March 11.
“I've enjoyed playing with the team so far. I've only had a few practices,” Brickman said.

He continues to be involved in the sport he loves, but this time as a member of the PBA Press Corps. Aside from primarily covering the PBA, he is also assigned to cover Gilas Pilipinas.
