TNT top dog Jayson Castro’s recovery from the patellar tendon tear he suffered in the PBA Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup is going really well.
TNT veteran star Jayson Castro put up some shots during warm-up Wednesday night, Jan. 21, raising hopes that the former Best Point Guard in Asia will see action in the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup Finals opener.
But unsurprisingly, Castro didn’t.
“Maganda 'yong recovery. I think, mga 10 months na ngayon, eh,” said Castro after the Tropang 5G’s 96-91 Game 1 win over defending champ San Miguel at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

The former Best Player of the Conference later said that while he is already raring to get back into action, his presence in Game 1 was just his way of showing support to his teammates.
Gusto kong ma-feel 'yong game and, at the same time, suportahan din ang mga teammates ko during warm-ups at pre-game shooting,” Castro said.

Castro suffered a patellar tendon tear in the Commissioner’s Cup last season.
Asked about a timetable for his return from the said injury, Castro said they are eyeing a comeback in the upcoming Commissioner’s Cup.
