With the future uncertain as far as his coaching career is concerned, Chito Victolero takes advantage of the time to focus on his family and business.
Chito Victolero has no ill feelings towards the Magnolia Hotshots or their new coach LA Tenorio.
Victolero had to clarify this weeks after his departure from the team he led to one championship and multiple Finals and semifinals appearances in nine years.

“First things first, si LA kaibigan ko 'yan. Wala naman kaming problema. Nag-uusap naman kami 'pag nagkita sa game,” he said in Saturday’s episode of Power and Play with Kom Noli Eala.
If anything, the one-time PBA Press Corps Coach of the Year felt the league legend deserved the promotion.
“I have a high respect for LA, sa pagiging leader nya, sa kanyang basketball IQ, pwede talagang mag coach si LA. Deserve naman niya,” Victolero said.
Asked if he talked with the concurrent Gilas Pilipinas Youth head coach already, Victolero answered in the negative.
“Actually 'di pa kami nakapag-usap. I don’t want also na maging distraction dun sa ginagawa niya (with Magnolia),” he said.

But whether or not he is with the team, the 49-year-old mentor said he will always root for the Hotshots.
“Magnolia is always a family for me. Kahit anong mangyari. I want to see them maging successful. Wala nga lang ako doon pero in the back, support pa rin,” he said.

Right now, Victolero is committed to his full-time job as father, husband, and businessman.
“Right now wala pa naman (role). They told me to rest and let's see anong pwedeng mangyari in the future. But it's a journey eh. Naniniwala naman ako na coaching is a journey,” he said.
“So we don’t know what will happen in the future. But for now, concentrate muna ako sa family ko, sa business ko.”
