With a Top 4 finish still within reach, the Converge FiberXers seek a crucial bounce-back win when they take on the reeling Terrafirma Dyip in the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup on Wednesday, May 28.

The match starts at 5 p.m. at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.

Currently sitting at 5-4, the FiberXers know that every game counts as they jockey for favorable seeding heading into the playoffs.

They’ll have a golden opportunity to get back on track against a Dyip squad that has lost seven straight games, most recently a lopsided 89-128 defeat to San Miguel.

Converge is coming off a hard-fought 83-88 loss to red-hot NLEX last May 23 — a game that could’ve gone either way if not for Robert Bolick’s clutch heroics.

Despite the defeat, the FiberXers saw strong performances from their interior duo of Justine Baltazar and Justin Arana, who both recorded double-doubles. Baltazar had 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Arana contributed 12 points and 12 boards.

Against a Terrafirma side that has struggled on both ends of the floor, Converge will look to capitalize on its size advantage and rediscover the rhythm that earned them five wins earlier in the conference.

With the playoff race tightening, the FiberXers can’t afford any more slip-ups — especially not against a Dyip team languishing near the bottom of the standings.
