Robert Bolick bailed NLEX out of trouble.

That’s what NLEX coach Jong Uichico said about the contribution of Bolick in the Road Warriors' 80-72 win over Blackwater in the PBA Season 49 Philippine Cup at the Ynares Center in Montalban Friday, May 2.

This after the playmaker dropped 10 of his 20 points in the fourth period to help the squad chalk up a third straight win for a 3-1 record.

He also had seven rebounds, six assists and a steal.

“Blackwater definitely gave us a hard time. They took us out of our rhythm. Berto bailed us out in today’s game,” said Uichico during the post-match presser.

“When things aren’t going well, you know na maaasahan mong he will bail you out, which he did today.”

Bolick begged to differ, though, saying his teammates helped him get the job done.

For instance, JB Bahio contributed 12 points, eight rebounds, three assists and a steal; Kevin Alas chipped in 10 markers, six boards, three dimes and a swipe; and Dom Fajardo added 10 points, four rebounds and a steal.

“Credit sa bench namin. Credit kay Kevin (Alas), kay Bahio; they stepped in,” said Bolick.

“Sabi nga ni coach, we played as a team. Lahat nag-contribute. Ang ganda ng ginawa namin noong second half when we moved the ball. Kasi ang ganda ng depensa nila.”

Meanwhile, Blackwater slid into obscurity anew, dropping to 1-3 after coming out on top against NorthPort last April 25.

BJ Andrade paced the Bossing with 15 points, while RK Ilagan scored 14.

Bradwyn Guinto added 13 points, five rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block.
