Glen Yang felt helpless as he watched Eastern bow to Rain or Shine in the PBA Season 49 Commissioner’s Cup last Wednesday, Dec. 4.

Yang was still in Hong Kong then, trying to sort out some hiccups with his passport.

Now that he is back, the guest team looked like one cohesive unit again and dealt TNT a rude welcome, 105-84, to the mid-season conference at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium on Friday, Dec. 6.

“It was tough to watch; I'm not going to lie. I had some off-court issues with my passport. I think you guys heard. So I was watching the game from Hong Kong,” said Yang, who came through with 19 points, six rebounds and eight assists in Friday’s win.

“And it was tough, you know. We were rolling in the last two games and then to see them lose? Obviously, I wanted to be out there.”

He gave props to league commissioner Willie Marcial, among others, for helping him fix the hitch.

“Commissioner Willie, shout out to everyone else who helped out. I'm not going to say all the details, but, you know, we're all good now,” said Yang.

This passport issue also drums up anticipation of Yang's possible stint with the Hong Kong national team.

When asked about it, Yang was non-committal.

“I won't confirm anything, but you know, it might be coming sooner than later,” Yang said.

“Hopefully, I can suit up against Gilas one day, representing Hong Kong.”
