Week 2 of the PBA Governors' Cup ends on Sunday with a double-header pitting NorthPort and Meralco, as well as Terrafirma and Magnolia.
NorthPort seeks a third straight win when it tangles with Meralco in the PBA Seasson 49 Governors’ Cup on Sunday, September 1.
The Batang Pier and the Bolts collide in the main event of a double-header, seeing action at 7:30 p.m. live from the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.
On a roll since Venky Jois came on board to replace Taylor Johns, NorthPort does not plan on stopping anytime soon as it shoots for a joint top spot with TNT in Group A action.
Right now, NorthPort and Meralco share the second place with identical 2-1 win-loss records.

But it is not only Jois that is bringing good fortunes for the Batang Pier.
The local crew is also stepping up, led by Arvin Tolentino who dropped a career-high 51 points on five triples in a 135-109 drubbing of Converge earlier this week.
That sizzling performance followed up a 31-point outing of William Navarro — which shattered his own previous high of 29 markers — in the 112-93 win over the beleaguered Terrafirma.

Now it’s interesting to see how these wingers will fare against a defensive-minded Bolts, powered by Philippine Cup Finals MVP Chris Newsome and hulking import Allen Durham.
But while NorthPort eyes a third win, the Dyip still ache for a first in the ongoing import-spiced conference.
After making a historic quarterfinal appearance in the Philippine Cup last season, the Dyip have looked far from being a playoff team even with the arrival of former Best Player of the Conference winners Christian Standhardinger and Stanley Pringle.
Winning is also about to get tougher as they take on Magnolia (1-2) in the 5:00 p.m. curtain-raiser.
