The 18-year-old Filipino gymnast captured his first senior-level gold medal, ruling the floor exercise event of the FIG Artistic Gymnastics Apparatus World Cup Series in Antalya, Turkey.
The younger brother of two-time Olympic champion Carlos Yulo delivered a standout performance in the finale, scoring 14.100 to beat silver medalist Eamon Montgomery (13.833) of Ireland, and Rayderley Zapata (13.333) of Spain.
Yulo entered the medal rounds after placing fourth in the qualification round with a score of 13.666, tied with Montgomery and Norway’s Theodor Gadderud.

The victory marked a major breakthrough for the rising Filipino star, who is only competing in his second senior-level international campaign.
Just a week earlier, Yulo competed in the Baku, Azerbaijan leg of the World Cup series, where he finished fourth in the floor exercise and seventh in the horizontal bar.
