First-time All-Star starters Victor Wembanyama and Tyrese Maxey turned heads with dazzling performances, as the LA Clippers and Golden State Warriors gained steam in a stacked nine-game NBA Tuesday lineup. 

WEMBY, MAXEY CELEBRATE ALL-STAR STARTER NODS IN STYLE

  • San Antonio Spurs (30-13) def. Utah Jazz (14-29), 123-110: Hours after earning his first All-Star starter nod, Victor Wembanyama sank a season-high seven three-pointers and finished with 33 points and 10 rebounds, anchoring the Spurs to a third consecutive win.

  • Philadelphia 76ers (23-18) def. Indiana Pacers (10-34), 113-104: Following in Wembanyama’s footsteps, Tyrese Maxey celebrated his first All-Star starter nod by dazzling on both ends and leading the Sixers to a much-needed home victory.

  • Milwaukee Bucks (18-24) def. Atlanta Hawks (20-25), 112-110: Despite blowing a 23-point lead, the Milwaukee Bucks leaned on superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo’s big night to snap a three-game skid.

Antetokounmpo finished with 21 points and 17 rebounds on the same day he was named an All-Star starter for the 10th straight time.

  • Phoenix Suns (26-17) def. Brooklyn Nets (12-29), 126-117: Dillon Brooks and Devin Booker scored a combined 50 points as the Suns used a fast start to trounce the Nets. 

  • Dallas Mavericks (18-26) def. New York Knicks (25-18), 114-97: Cooper Flagg made an immediate mark in his NBA debut at Madison Square Garden, pouring in 18 points as the Mavericks dominated the struggling Knicks.

  • LA Clippers (19-23) def. Washington Wizards (24-20), 110-106: Behind another all-around brilliance performance from James Harden, the Clippers extended their winning streak to six. 

Harden finished with 36 points, nine assists, and seven steals, marking 13 wins in 15 outings for the surging LA squad.

  • Golden State Warriors (25-19) def. Miami Heat (22-21), 135-112: On the day Stephen Curry was named an All-Star again, the Warriors cruised past the Heat for their fourth consecutive win, even as Jimmy Butler’s early exit with an apparent knee injury.

  • Detroit Pistons (31-10) def. Boston Celtics (26-16), 104-103: In a showdown between the Eastern Conference’s top teams, Tobias Harris rose to the occasion in the clutch, powering the Pistons past the Celtics for their fourth straight victory.

  • OKC Thunder (36-8) def. Cleveland Cavaliers (24-20), 136-104: Reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander poured in 30 points for the 30th time this season as the champion Thunder crushed the Cavaliers.

After a narrow loss to the Miami Heat, the Thunder bounced back in style, tying a season high with 23 three-pointers in a commanding 34-point rout.
