Nerves of steel.

Scottie Barnes was as steady as he could get in the endgame, lifting the Toronto Raptors to a 116-115 overtime win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday (PH time) at the Scotiabank Arena.

Tied at 115 with 0.8 seconds left, Barnes made the marginal first free throw for Toronto, then missed the second as time expired in the Raptors’ win.

Barnes led the way with 31 points, seven rebounds, and eight assists for Toronto as the Raptors recovered in the nick of time after blowing a 14-point lead in regulation.

Jamal Shead added 22 points, including the shot to force overtime, while Immanuel Quickley was good for 20 points.

Meanwhile, the 76ers got 38 from Tyrese Maxey.

Toronto’s win put the team at 24-16, just ahead of the 21-16 76ers in the East standings.
