The reigning MPL Philippines Season 16 champions are one win away from the knockout stage of the M7 World Championships in Indonesia.
Team Liquid PH are one win away from becoming one of two teams to claim their spots first in the knockout stage of the M7 World Championships in Indonesia after toppling Team Falcons, 1-0, in their Swiss Stage assignment on Sunday.
TLPH, who opened their campaign with a win over compatriots Aurora Gaming, stamped a decisive win after fending off an early challenge from the Falcons.
Midlaner Alston “Sanji” Pabico unleashed two kills and six assists on Pharsa to help pace TLPH’s 2-0 campaign in the Swiss Stage.
Despite gaining an early advantage with first blood thanks to Sanji, Team Falcos were able to catch TLPH on the back foot midway after securing the first turtle objective and taking down three players from the Team Liquid side in a quick sequence.
But Kiel “Oheb” Soriano was able to reinstate order with his Claude’s Blazing Duet at the 11th minute mark which ended with a two-man wipe for the Filipinos with the Lord marching on in the bottom lane.
While the Falcons were able to resist somewhat, jungler Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno closed the door on their foes with a double kill with his Nolan before slaying the Lord to complete their victory on Team Falcons’ base.
TLPH thus get ready to battle the Sengalor Red Giants for a quick ticket to the knockouts.
Meanwhile, compatriots Aurora Gaming will have a longer route, finding themselves in the mid matches in Round 3.
