Aurora Gaming bounced back from an opening day loss to compatriots Team Liquid PH and got themselves on the board in M7.
Aurora Gaming recovered quickly from their opening day loss to fellow Philippine team Team Liquid PH as they survived a gutsy CFU Gaming side, 1-0, in the Swiss Stage of the M7 World Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia on Sunday.
Aurora, which now flaunts a 1-1 card, had to withstand a CFU squad that clawed back from an early 5-1 kill deficit after midlaner Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo kickstarted a strong start for the Filipinos.
Even as CFU Gaming were able to recover to tie things up at 5-all while also securing a free Lord after three Aurora heroes were picked off during a clash, Aurora’s defense in the top lane, led by jungler Jonard “Demonkite” Caranto (Yi Sun-Shin) flipped the switch for Aurora.
Caranto unleashed a triple-kill that seized the lead right back for the Philippines.
A Lord at the 20th minute mark kickstarted the beginning of the end for CFU as Jan “Domeng” Delmundo’s Claude secured a double-kill that essentially banished CFU Gaming.
Edward “Edward” Dapadap nabbed match MVP with four kills and 13 assists using his signature Lapu-Lapu.
RORA will attempt to move closer to the knockout stage when they face Mongolia’s Team Zone in their next match on Monday, January 12.
