From the streets of Quiapo to the arenas of the PBA and Spikers’ Turf, the Feast of the Black Nazarene remains a unifying force.

Rain or Shine’s Adrian Nocum, TNT’s Glenn Khobuntin, and PGJC Navy’s Peter Quiel were among the basketball and volleyball personalities who joined devotees in the annual celebration on Friday, January 9.

This year’s Traslacion stretched nearly 31 hours—the longest procession in history—and drew devotees from all walks of life, including some of the country’s top athletes.

Nocum shared a photo with fellow guard RK Ilagan of Blackwater Bossing, captioning it: “Walang hanggang pasasalamat.”

Both players are coming off tough campaigns as Ilagan’s Bossing failed to qualify in the ongoing Season 50 Philippine Cup, while Nocum’s Elasto  Painters were eliminated in the semifinals.

Khobuntin and Vosotros also documented their participation, sharing snaps with their loved ones as TNT continues to pursue an All-Filipino Cup championship.

The Tropang 5G fell 89-97 to the Meralco Bolts in Game 3 of their semifinals series but still hold a 2-1 lead.

Coach Chot Reyes’ squad will aim for a commanding 3-1 advantage when the series resumes tomorrow, January 11, at 7:30 p.m. at the Mall of Asia Arena.

Ex-PBA cager Jervy Cruz also took part, posting a video with his wife Catherine outside Quiapo Church in celebration.

Meanwhile, Peter Quiel of the PGJC Navy in Spikers’ Turf shared his own snaps, writing on Instagram: “Walang Hanggang Pasasalamat Poong Jesus Nazareno.”

The annual spiritual tradition continues to unite fans and athletes alike, blending faith and sports in one of the country’s most enduring celebrations.
