Even Kevin Quiambao’s 26-point, 14-rebound effort wasn’t enough as the Goyang Sono Skygunners fell to the Ulsan Mobis Hyundai Phoebus in KBL action.
It was too little, too late for Kevin Quiambao and the Goyang Sono Skygunners.
KQ recorded a spirited 26-point, 14-rebound double-double, but Goyang’s late comeback fell short in 68-74 loss to the Ulsan Mobis Hyundai Phoebus on Thursday, November 7.
It marked Quiambao’s third 20-10 game of the season, as his late three-pointer with 1:56 remaining cut Ulsan’s lead to seven at 71-64.
Ulsan, though, hung on late to claim back-to-back wins, handing Goyang its sixth loss in seven outings and dropping the Skygunners to 3-9.
Nathan Knight also had a strong showing with 23 markers and 20 boards.
Myeong-jin Seo fired 17 points to topscore Phoebus as they improved to 6-7 for sixth place in the standings.
Quiambao and the Skygunners return to action when they face JD Cagulangan and the Suwon KT SonicBoom (7-4) on Sunday, November 9, at 1 p.m.
