Carl Tamayo’s Changwon and Rhenz Abando’s Anyang continue their winning ways, while SJ Belangel and Daegu finally earned their KBL breakthrough.

Tamayo poured in 17 points to power the defending champion Changwon LG Sakers to an 87–75 victory over the Ulsan Hyundai Mobis Phoebus, extending their winning streak to three games.

The former Gilas Pilipinas forward added four rebounds, four assists, and three steals while shooting an efficient 7-for-10 from the field as Changwon improved to 6–2 — just behind Rhenz Abando’s Anyang Jung Kwan Jang Red Boosters.

Meanwhile, Belangel and the Daegu KOGAS Pegasus finally barged into the win column after escaping with an 83–81 victory over Arvin Tolentino and the Seoul SK Knights.

After scoring just seven points in a 61–71 loss to the Busan KCC Egis (6–2) earlier, Belangel responded with a much-improved performance of 15 points, four rebounds, and five assists in the win.

Meanwhile, former MVP Ethan Alvano flirted with a triple-double, finishing with 16 points, nine rebounds, and eight assists to lead the Wonju DB Promy’s 94–80 bounce-back win over Justin Gutang and the Seoul Samsung Thunders.

Wonju now sits fifth at 5–4.

Abando, meanwhile, tallied only eight points, but Anyang still got the better of JD Cagulangan and the Suwon KT SonicBoom with a 92–87 victory — their fourth straight — to stay on top at 7–2.

Cagulangan posted 15 points, but Suwon saw its three-game win streak snapped, slipping to 6–3 for solo fourth.

Lastly, Kevin Quiambao’s 20-point outing wasn’t enough as the Goyang Sono Skygunners fell short in an 83–85 loss to the Seoul Samsung Thunders — their fourth straight defeat that dropped them to 2–7, second to last in the standings.
