Brazil moved one step closer towards the Round of 16 of the 2025 FIVB Men’s World Championship, hammering out a 25-11, 25-22, 25-18 sweep of Czechia in their group stage clash at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Tuesday, September 16.
After dropping one set in their tournament opener against China, the world no. 3 Brazilians bounced back with a flawless outing to improve to 2-0 and move to the top spot in Pool D.
To secure their place in the knockout stages, Brazil will need the Serbia–China clash later at 1:00 p.m. to stretch to five sets, regardless of the victor.
A three-time world champion, the South American squad goes for a pool sweep against the Serbians on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 10:00 a.m.
Czechia, who absorbed their first loss in the tournament and slid to 1-1 , faces the Chinese squad in its final pool game at 9:00 p.m. the same day.
