Australia got the headstart Group A of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 with a triumphant opener against South Korea.
Australia did everything right from start to finish, opening its three-peat bid in the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 with a 97-61 win over South Korea on Wednesday, August 6 (PH time).
The Boomers thus got the headstart in Group A, where they will also take on Lebanon and Qatar.

Jack McVeigh shot five three-pointers on his way to 20 points, two rebounds, and a steal for the back-to-back champions.
Jaylin Galloway scored 12 points, William Hickey had 11 points and two rebounds, while Xavier Cooks added 10 for the Boomers, who took a 48-31 lead at the break.

Led by Lee Junghyun, the Koreans showed resistance in the third period before Australia delivered the haymaker in the fourth period to bury the former for good.
Junghyun paced South Korea with 20 points on three triples, while Lee Hyunjung put up 11 points, eight rebounds, an assist, and two steals.

The Boomers will next face Wael Arakji’s Lebanon in a rematch of the FIBA Asia Cup 2022 Finals.
The match is set at 11:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8 (PH time).
