After clinching bronze with a four-set win over Indonesia in Leg 1 of the 2025 SEA V.League in Thailand, the Alas Pilipinas Women took to social media to celebrate the victory.
Alas Pilipinas wrapped up Leg 1 of the 5th SEA V.League on a high note, taking down Indonesia in four sets—25-21, 23-25, 25-17, 25-19—to secure a hard-earned bronze finish in Thailand.

Angel Canino led the charge with another high-efficiency outing on offense, later earning the 1st Best Outside Hitter award.
On Instagram, Canino posted a quick message: “One step closer, more to chase.”

Middle blocker Fifi Sharma also turned heads with her work at the net, combining crisp quick hits and timing on the block.
Off the court, she posted a celebratory photo in team gear with the caption, “Love what I do,”—a glimpse into the mood within the Alas camp after finishing on the podium.
The mix of new blood and seasoned veterans has given this team a distinct identity. Captain Julia De Guzman, libero Dawn Macandili-Catindig, and setter Jia De Guzman provided the backbone, while rising stars like Eya Laure and Mars Alba offered fresh energy and chemistry.
There’s also a storyline that’s not lost on Filipino volleyball fans—former collegiate rivals now standing on the same side.
DLSU’s Alba shared laughs and snapshots with teammates from UST, Ateneo, and NU, poking fun at their UAAP past: “S85 puksaan,” she wrote, referring to Season 85 epic battles.
Eya Laure added her own throwback.
She shared a photo with Madayag, Macandili, and Jia De Guzman—national team teammates back in 2019 and still going strong six years later.
With chemistry growing and the fire still burning, Alas Pilipinas now sets their sights on Leg 2 of the SEA V.League in Vietnam.
