Dijonai Carrington marked a triumphant start with the Minnesota Lynx, while Alyssa Thomas continued her dominant form, notching her second consecutive triple-double and third overall for the season.

Meanwhile, the defending champion New York Liberty, LA Sparks, and Chicago Sky secured crucial victories.


CARRINGTON GETS WINNING LYNX DEBUT; THOMAS DROPS TRIPLE-DOUBLE ANEW

  • Minnesota Lynx (25-5) def. Seattle Storm (16-14), 91-87: Dijonai Carrington marked triumphant Lynx debut as Minnesota became the first team this season to reach 25 wins.

Carrington ended up with 13 points in 17 minutes off the bench, while Courtney Williams fired a team-high 20 markers to guide the league-leading squad to a third consecutive win.

  • Phoenix Mercury (18-11) def. Connecticut Sun (5-23), 82-66: Alyssa Thomas tallied her second straight triple-double, pushing the Mercury past the cellar dweller Sun.

Thomas finished with 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists for her 18th career triple-double, the most in WNBA history. Phoenix’s win allowed them to tie with the Atlanta Dream for the no. 4 spot in the team standings.

  • LA Sparks (13-15) def. Indiana Fever (17-13), 100-91: Kelsey Plum delivered 25 points and 11 assists as the Sparks snapped the Fever’s five-game winning run.

It marked the the fifth straight game that Plum recorded 20 or more markers and five or more dimes, becoming just the fourth player ever in league history to do so and the first since Caitlin Clark last season.

  • New York Liberty (19-10) def. Dallas Wings (8-22), 85-76: Jonquel Jones and defending champion Liberty secured back-to-back wins after dropping four straight, getting revenge against Paige Bueckers and the Wings.

Jones finished with a strong 15-point, 10-rebound outing for his 30th career double-double as New York improved to 2-3 since two-time MVP Breanna Stewart sustained a bone bruise in her right knee.

  • Chicago Sky (8-21) def. Washington Mystics (13-16), 78-64: Elizabeth Williams and Kamilla Cardoso joined forces to help the Sky dispose the Mystics, arresting an eight-game losing skid.

Williams posted 18 points and 10 rebounds while Cardoso added her own double-double effort of 16 markers and 13 rebounds for Chicago’s first victory in over a month.
