WWE's long-term booking appears to be evident as Tyrese Haliburton's Indiana Pacers take on Jalen Brunson's New York Knicks in the NBA Eastern Conference Finals.
The script is scripting, or so they say.
WWE’s long-term booking is apparently in play in the NBA Eastern Conference Finals, with the New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers set to renew their rivalry in what should be an intense clash.
The main stars from both teams got involved in WWE last year during the offseason, with Indiana’s Tyrese Haliburton and New York’s Jalen Brunson appearing in a June 2024 episode of SmackDown.
The Pacers guard linked up with then US Champion Logan Paul, while the Knicks star came to the aid of LA Knight.
As clips of the Haliburton-Brunson segment resurfaced following the Knicks elimination of the Boston Celtics to set the series against Indiana, the WWE were quick to capitalize on their “booking.”
Triple H, now WWE’s Chief Content Officer, made sure to always blend sports and entertainment.
Haliburton is a noted pro wrestling fan, and his WWE stock has risen enough to now be a character on WWE 2K25.
Brunson is a fan himself, even hosting Triple H on his podcast to reflect on his WWE appearance.
The NBA Eastern Conference Finals start Thursday, May 22 (PH time).
