Slowly but surely for Kai Sotto.

Yokohama took the tough 89-79 loss Saturday to the red-hot Chiba Jets, but Kai Sotto is rounding into form for the B-Corsairs.

Against the Jets, whose 12-game winning streak is the second-best active streak in Japan’s B.League, Kai posted a strong 18 points and 10 rebounds in almost 26 minutes of play.

It’s Sotto’s first double-double of the season and 18 points are Kai’s new season-high.

Of course, the 7’3” center is coming off his career-high in minutes in the previous Yokohama game, a win against Shibuya earlier this week.

Injuries have derailed Sotto’s second season in Japan, but the this week is shaping up to be his best since his initial run with the Hiroshima Dragonfiles last year.

Kai has made back-to-back starts for Yokohoma, and he will have another chance to make an impact with the B-Corsairs in the rematch against Chiba tomorrow.
