The Philippine men's national football team has plenty of reason to be excited about after its 2-1 come-from-behind victory in the friendly against Afghanistan on Tuesday. And one of those is named Jens Sebastian Beraque Rasmussen.

With Omid Popalzay putting Afghanistan on the board at the 64th minute, the Danish-born Rasmussen took matters into his own hands at the 74th minute. He faced the entire Afghan backline from the half and raced all the way to hit the net.

The celebration and the swag were the icing on the cake.

Christian Rontini sealed the Philippine victory with a second goal at the 81st minute.

Fans immediately compared Rasmussen to Norwegian striker Erling Haaland.

"Beautiful first touch, great ball control, with the speed, strength and sublime left foot finish reminiscent of Haaland," a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, read. "This guy is something special let me tell you."

"It's like doing Gareth Bale's goal at the finals of Copa del Rey 2014 against Barcelona," Owen Angsico Reyes posted as an Instagram comment.

Others meanwhile shared how the 21-year-old forward for Danish club Hobro could become the next Phil Younghusband, the former longtime captain for the Azkals.

"I think Jens Sebastian Rasmussen has got what it takes (height and skills) to become the new Phil Younghusband for the Azkals," sports editor Pavel Vondra posted on X. "And the team really needs such a gifted scorer to arrest the ongoing slide and return on the upward trajectory and into the top 100 in FIFA ranking."

Teammate Patrick Reichelt is excited about their new-look squad.

"Future is bright brother!" he posted on Rasmussen's Instagram.
