Gilas Pilipinas could not get past the New Zealand Tall Blacks, slipping to a 2-1 mark in the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.
There was no magic at home this time for Gilas Pilipinas.
Gilas kept in step with the Tall Blacks but ultimately fell short, 66-69, in the second window of the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay Thursday night, Feb. 26.
New Zealand carved out its first win in the qualifiers after a 0-2 start while dealing the Filipinos their first loss for a 2-1 mark.
Gilas will next face Australia Sunday, March 1, at the same venue.
