Eya Laure made her return from injury to help Choco Mucho Flying Titans snap a three-game skid in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
Eya Laure made an immediate impact in her return as Choco Mucho snapped a three-game skid with a hard-fought five-set victory over Galeries Tower, 26-24, 20-25, 22-25, 25-13, 15-12, in the 2026 PVL All-Filipino Conference at the FilOil Centre in San Juan on Thursday night, February 26.
Laure finished with 18 points built on 14 attacks, two aces, and two blocks, while also contributing across the floor with five excellent digs and seven excellent receptions.
The performance came after she missed the Flying Titans’ previous outing due to an abdominal injury sustained against the Creamline Cool Smashers.
"Siyempre, pinaghirapan na namin na umabot sa fifth set," Laure said during the post-game press conference. "So, trabahuin namin and i-keep namin 'yung hustle na matulungan sa isa't isa."
Still easing her way back to full fitness, Laure admitted she only recently returned to regular ball work.
"For the past few days, parang kakabalik ko lang din talaga sa bola," she said. "Parang three days ago lang. Tapos 'yung bola ko pa is not talaga 'yung buong bola."
Laure credited the coaching staff and management for allowing her the necessary time to recover, a decision she said made a significant difference in her return.
"Talagang binigyan din ako ng mga coaches and ng management to recover," she added. "Malaking bagay na nakapagpahinga din ako para makalaro ulit."
Beyond the physical aspect, Laure acknowledged that she is still adjusting to life with the Flying Titans, having joined the team this season.
"Nandun pa ako sa adjustment period ko dito sa Choco," she said. "Every training, ni-look forward ko talaga na may matutunan."
She also highlighted the role of the coaching staff, particularly Dante Alinsunurin, in helping her understand the system.
"Sobrang tiyaga nila coach na i-guide kami," Laure said. "Hinimay-himay talaga sa akin sa training. As a player, mas namomotivate ako and mas ginaganahan na matuto pa."
With Laure back in the lineup, Choco Mucho will look to build on the confidence gained from the breakthrough win as they face the Nxled Chameleons on Tuesday, March 3.
