The Gilas Pilipinas Women are assured of a top-6 finish in the 2025 FIBA Women’s Asia Cup in China, which means a guaranteed spot to the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
The Gilas Pilipinas Women sealed their place in qualifying tournament of the 2026 FIBA Women’s World Cup in Germany after beating Lebanon in the 2025 FIBA Women’s Asia Cup in China.
Fending off Lebanon in their final match in Group B on Wednesday, 73-70, the Philippines are guaranteed a top-6 finish in the Asia Cup and will enter the playoffs, facing the second placer in Group A for a shot at the semifinals.

The World Cup qualifiers will take place in March next year, where 24 teams will battle it out for 16 total slots for the final tournament later that year.
Gilas Women will join World Cup host Germany, pre-qualifying tournament winners Czech Republic and Hungary, the top six teams of the 2025 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup, the top five of EuroBasket Women 2025, and five other teams in the top six in the Asia Cup.
Already assured of their spots along with Gilas in Asia are Australia, China, and Japan.
Back in the FIBA Women’s Asia Cup, the Philippines will return to action in the quarterfinals on Friday, July 18.
