Gilas Pilipinas will play Australia, New Zealand, and Guam in Group A of the FIBA World Cup 2027 Asian Qualifiers.
Gilas Pilipinas are set for a tough road ahead for the 2027 FIBA World Cup in Qatar.
The Philippines will play Australia, New Zealand, and Guam in Group A of the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers, following the official draw Wednesday (PH time).
Gilas is grouped with the Tall Blacks again, which the Filipinos already met in the FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers. The Philippines and New Zealand split both games, each winning at home.
Both countries are also in the same group in the FIBA Asia Cup proper later this year in Saudi Arabia.
Group B is comprised of Japan, China, South Korea, and Chinese Taipei. Group C has Iran, Jordan, Syria, and Iraq. Group D complete the cast with Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, India, and Qatar.
Three teams from each group will move on to the second round. Group A will crossover with Group C.
