Team Liquid PH suffered their first loss at M7 after a hard-fought series to Selangor Red Giants in the Swiss Stage in Jakarta.
Team Liquid Philippines absorbed their first setback in the M7 World Championship after falling to rivals Selangor Red Giants, 1–2, in a gripping best-of-three Swiss Stage clash on Tuesday, January 13, in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Team Liquid struck first in Game 1 after overcoming a standout performance from Filipino gold laner “Innocent,” who delivered three Savages. The early momentum, however, did not carry over as Selangor Red Giants adjusted and wrestled control in the next two games.
SRG evened the match in Game 2 before closing it out in the decider, where Team Liquid, led by "KarlTzy", attempted a late comeback. The Malaysian side held firm, with Filipino EXP laner “Kramm” and Malaysian roamer “Yums” anchoring the final push to seal the series.
With the win, Selangor Red Giants improved to a perfect 3–0 record in the Swiss Stage, joining Indonesia’s Alter Ego in the knockout stage.
Despite the loss, Team Liquid remains in a strong position. The Filipinos head into Round 4 of the Swiss Stage needing just one win to secure a spot in the knockout round as their M7 campaign continues.
