RSG Philippines had to change tactics in MPL Philippines Season 13 after losing three straight matchups in two weeks of action.
Mindset ba, mindset?
Coach Brian "Panda" Chang-rok knew he had to do something different after RSG Philippines suffered three straight losses in MPL Philippines Season 13.
The squad started the season strong with a 2-1 win over Omega Esports.
But the Raiders found themselves on the losing end of a hunt, after they lost to ONIC Philippines, 0-2.
In Week 2, it got even tougher as RSG was swept by M5 Champions AP.Bren and fell short against M4 Champions ECHO, 1-2.
"Galing kasi kami sa tatlong lose streak. Parang medyo down na down 'yung morale nila, lalo si Nathzz," Coach Panda said on Friday, referring to EXP laner Nathanael "Nathzz" Estrologo.
So what does a coach need to do?
"My whole focus point for the past two weeks has been maraming drafts sa scrim. And I also kept giving them feedback regarding the gameplay," Panda explained.
This time, there has to be a change of mindset.
"Instead of reacting to what enemies are doing, let’s make a plan and let the enemy react. And then we just focused on objective team fights. Still kulang pa, pero more malinis yung mga team fight para sa objective game nila today," Coach Panda added.
The squad’s regrouping paid off in Friday's match.
In game one, RSG delivered a fierce performance against Minana EVOS. Clarense "Kusey" Camilo was hailed as the MVP after pulling off marksman Natan with a 7-1-4 KDA.
In the second game, Nathzz’s Arlott clinched the MVP badge after displaying an excellent presence in EXP Lane with a 3-0-8 KDA.
The Raiders improved their win-loss slate to 2-3 with seven points, moving up to the fifth spot in the Regular Season standings. Meanwhile, Minana suffered their fourth straight loss, recording a 1-4 win-loss tally.
RSG takes on TNC Pro on Saturday to end Week 3.
