Alyssa Solomon is day-to-day after suffering an ankle injury in Alas Pilipinas' victory over Indonesia in the AVC Women’s Volleyball Nations Cup.
Alyssa Solomon is now day-to-day after the Alas Pilipinas scoring leader exited Sunday’s four-set win over Indonesia in the 2025 AVC Women's Volleyball Nations Cup with a left ankle injury.
Solomon tallied 17 points off 10 attacks, four blocks, and three aces before she landed awkwardly on a block attempt early in the fourth set. She immediately iced her left ankle and did not return to the game.
Despite losing their top scorer, the Philippines stayed composed behind Angel Canino, Bella Belen, and super rookie Shaina Nitura, who stepped up with seven points, including the match-winning hit.

After the match, head coach Jorge de Brito shared an update on the NU superstar’s status ahead of their match tomorrow against Iran.
“She is undergoing treatment, on the way to being okay,” said de Brito. “We will see later or tomorrow.”
Still unbeaten in Pool B, Alas Women are set to face a tough Iran squad, who are also 2-0 in the tournament after beating Indonesia in five sets and New Zealand in four sets.
While the Alas team shifts its focus to preparation, all eyes remain on Solomon’s recovery and possible availability moving forward.
Nonetheless, the work continues for De Brito and Alas Women as they look to inch closer to a semifinal spot.
“Rest first and then video to study. They are doing good. Tall middle blockers and playing fast,” he explained.
Alas Women’s match against Iran is set for 4:00 p.m., LIVE on One Sports, One Sports+, and on the Pilipinas Live app.
