Alas Pilipinas Men are set for a packed international calendar leading to the 2025 FIVB World Championship, with stops in New York, Bahrain, Southeast Asia, and Europe.
With the 2025 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship looming large on home soil, Alas Pilipinas Men are ramping up their preparations with a stacked calendar of international commitments and development initiatives over the next few months.
Here’s a breakdown of their upcoming journey:
May 30-31: ‘Serve-Spike Unite! 2’
Alas Pilipinas kicks things off in the United States with a senior men’s national team tryout for Fil-American talents in New York on May 30, aimed at expanding the talent pool for the national squad.
The next day, May 31, the team will headline ‘Serve-Spike Unite! 2’, a special volleyball showcase event in New York City in celebration of the 127th Philippine Independence Day. This is part of the country’s broader effort to engage the global Filipino community and promote volleyball as a unifying sport.
June 10-12: Alas Pilipinas Invitationals
Returning to Manila, the men’s team will take center stage at the Alas Pilipinas Invitationals, featuring three elite international teams.
The Smart Araneta Coliseum will host this high-profile event, giving local fans a chance to witness world-class volleyball ahead of the global championship.
June 17–24: 2025 AVC Men’s Nations Cup
Next on the agenda is a trip to Manama, Bahrain, where Alas will compete in the AVC Men’s Nations Cup 2025—a key qualifier for the 2026 Asian Volleyball Championships.
The tournament offers the team a chance to test its mettle against top Asian squads and gain valuable experience under international pressure.
July 11–13 & July 18–20: SEA V.League
Alas Pilipinas will then defend its position in the SEA V.League, facing Southeast Asian powerhouses such as Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia in two separate legs.
The Philippines impressed in 2024 with a pair of wins over Vietnam, and the team will look to build on that success this July.
Late July: Europe training camp
To further sharpen their game, the team will embark on a European training camp to face tough international competition and undergo intensive sessions before heading back to Manila.
This final overseas leg is crucial in refining team chemistry and preparation before the world stage.
