It's been an up-and-down campaign so far for the FEU Lady Tamaraws in UAAP Season 88.

This even as the Lady Tamaraws drubbed the Adamson Lady Falcons, 22-25, 30-28, 25-17, 25-20, on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Four games in, the team is still looking for a semblance of consistency as FEU alternated losses and wins for a 2-2 mark.

But now that they're back on the right track, libero Marga Encarnacion believes they'll need to dig deep to find the right formula for a winning season.

"Sabi ni coach Tina [Salak] is manggagaling muna sa amin, kung hindi namin sisimulan sa sarili namin hindi namin magagawa yung consistency na sinasabi nga,” Encarnacion said.

"Mahirap maging consistent kung hindi namin sisimulan sa sarili namin."

Against Adamson, Encarnacion nabbed Player of the Game honors thanks to her defense.

She tallied 26 excellent digs and 10 excellent receptions, steadying the FEU defense against Adamson’s power duo Shaina Nitura and Frances Mordi.

With the Lady Tamaraws holding strong, FEU found offense from Faida Bakanke and Alyzza Devosora, who had 22 and 18 points, respectively.

Jaz Ellarina and Gerz Petallo also finished in double-digit scoring, adding a combined 21 points.

Digging deep

Despite two tough losses to La Salle and NU, the Lady Tamaraws are taking the positives from their run so far in Season 88.

In their two wins, drawing inspiration from their losses proved pivotal to power themselves to quick bounce-back victories.

"Naging inspirasyon po namin yung mga past naming losses kasi kung wala kaming paghuhugutan, hindi kami makakabangon kung wala kaming naramdaman nung mga past losses namin ginawa namin siyang inspiration para may dahilan kami bumawi pa," said Encarnacion.

The Lady Tamaraws target another win when they face the Ateneo Blue Eagles on Wednesday, March 4, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Meanwhile, the Adamson Lady Falcons seek a bounce back when they battle the UST Golden Tigresses on Saturday, March 7, at the same Quezon City venue.
