The race to grab the Final Four incentive is neck and neck.
The De La Salle University Lady Spikers have already locked their hold of the number one spot, regardless of the outcome of their last elimination round game against the University of the East Lady Spikers. But the race for the number two seed and remaining twice-to-beat edge is still very much alive.
The defending champions National University Lady Bulldogs and the University of Santo Tomas Golden Tigresses are tied at 9-3, and the Adamson University Lady Falcons are creeping behind with a 9-4, win-loss record.
Here's the outlook of the last week of the elimination round for each school.
NU Lady Bulldogs
The defending champions will face UST next on Wednesday, and the Ateneo De Manila University Blue Eagles to finish the eliminations. Winning both games will guarantee NU the number two seed. Losing both may put them in a Final Four date with La Salle.
UST Golden Tigresses
Remaining games: NU and the University of the Philippines Lady Maroons.
UST and NU's matchup may define the Final Four seeding. It is very likely that the team that wins this matchup will grab the number two spot. However, the Golden Tigresses will have to finish off UP to secure the twice-to-beat edge even if they manage to beat the defending champs again.
Adamson Lady Falcons
Adamson technically still has some chance to get up to number 2, but the squad from San Marcelino will have to be lucky too.
If the Lady Falcons manage to win in their last assignment against the Far Eastern University Tamaraws, NU and UST would have to split their remaining games to force a three-way tie at number 2.
