New horizons are set for setter Mafe Galanza and middle blocker Remy Palma after she they said goodbye to their respective teams.

Galanza is leaving the Creamline Cool Smashers after spending two seasons with the team, having joined the multi-titled PVL franchise in 2023.

Creamline announced her departure on social media.

“Mafe, from the court to the sidelines, you gave this team strength, care, and presence through every moment,” wrote the team.

“Your heart and Good Vibes will always stay with the Creamline family,” they added.

Galanza is the younger sister of another Creamline player, star spiker Jema Galanza. The 25-year-old won four PVL championships with the Cool Smashers, with their most recent title coming in the 2024 Invitational Conference.

Meanwhile, Palma, who was previously with the Petro Gazz Angels, has signed on with Strong Group Athletics as a “playing assistant coach.”

SGA welcomed her on social media also on Monday.

“Remy Palma joins Strong Group as a playing assistant coach, ready to share her experience while still leading on the court,” they said.

Like Galanza, Palma has only previously played for one team in her professional career, having joined the Petro Gazz Angels in 2021.

Palma is a three-time PVL champion with Petro Gazz and was also previously named Best Middle Blocker in the 2023 PVL All-Filipino Conference.

She joins former Petro Gazz setter Chie Saet in SGA. It is unclear whether Palma or Saet will play for the Farm Fresh Foxies or the ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles — both teams under the SGA umbrella in the PVL.
