The ZUS Coffee Thunderbelles clinched their first-ever PVL Finals berth after sweeping the PLDT High Speed Hitters in straight sets to complete a stunning Reinforced Conference semifinal upset.
ZUS Coffee has officially arrived.
In a breakthrough moment two years in the making, the Thunderbelles marched into their first-ever PVL Finals after sweeping the PLDT High Speed Hitters, 25-22, 28-26, 25-22, in the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference semifinals on Thursday, November 27, at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Thunderbelles showed great poise throughout the match, fending off the High Speed Hitters’ power and crunch-time experience.
After close battles in the first two sets, ZUS Coffee banked on its all-time high momentum to snatch an early 12-7 lead against PLDT.
Despite the High Speed Hitters’ efforts to extend the match, tying the match at 21-all, Anna DeBeer willed the Thunderbelles to victory after scoring the team’s three of the last four points to finish with 30 markers.
ZUS Coffee, once seen as a rebuilding expansion team, now stands just one win away from a championship as they gear up for a title duel with the battle-tested Petro Gazz Angels on Sunday, November 30, still at the Big Dome.
