PLDT head coach Rald Ricafort beams with pride as the High Speed Hitters finally got to field their complete lineup in the 2025 PVL Invitational.
PLDT’s long wait to finally showcase a complete lineup paid off in a big way.
The High Speed Hitters flexed their depth in their straight-set triumph over Cignal, 25-19, 25-13, 25-22, in the 2025 PVL Invitational at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City Saturday, Aug. 23.
After the match, head coach Rald Ricafort could not hide his excitement after fielding a full-strength squad for the first time in over a year.
“Lineup-wise, ito na 'yong medyo full potential. Pero, in terms of performance, talagang kailangan din namin noong mga galing sa Alas kasi talagang pagod na 'yong mga players,” Ricafort said during the post-game press conference.

But while the newly minted On Tour champion's full lineup may add further pressure for them to win another title, Ricafort chooses to focus on its positive effect on the team.
“Mas excitement. Kasi nga ang dami naming conference na niraaos lang 'yong mga lineup. So, ngayon na nakukumpleto na, wala pa 'yong pressure. Mas hinihintay pa naming ma-unlock 'yong full potential ng team,” he added.

Since the PVL on Tour, PLDT has seen the resurgence of Kianna Dy and Kim Fajardo, who both returned from lengthy knee injuries. Meanwhile, Alleiah Malaluan and Dell Palomata made their return to the team after their Alas Pilipinas duties.
With key players now back in the roster, the High Speed Hitters have looked sharper than ever, improving to 3-0 in the standings and extending their winning streak to 10 matches.
Ricafort is hopeful that PLDT’s depth will only get stronger as the tournament progresses.
“Lagi namang good motivation sa team pag nakikita na per position, kumpleto na kami,” he said.
The High Speed Hitters will put their unbeaten record on the line against Japanese guest team Kobe Shinwa University Monday, Aug. 25.
