The PLDT High Speed Hitters continued their dominance from their championship run in the 2025 PVL on Tour.
PLDT remained perfect in the 2025 PVL Invitational after clobbering Cignal, 25-19, 25-13, 25-22, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City Saturday, Aug. 23.
The High Speed Hitters thus improved to 3-0 in the standings, stretching their streak to 10 straight games after going unbeaten in the PVL on Tour.
The HD Spikers, meanwhile, dropped to 0-3 despite seeing the return of star libero Dawn Macandili-Catindig.
Four PLDT players finished in double-digit scoring, led by Savi Davison who punched in 17 points. Alleiah Malaluan added 12 markers, while Kianna Dy and Majoy Baron scored 11 and 10, respectively.

In control in the first two sets, the High Speed Hitters had to overcome Cignal in the third set, who even led 19-16 after Ethan Arce’s service ace.
But PLDT quickly answered with a 3-0 run for a 19-all standoff.
The two teams continued to exchange attacks until Davison and Malaluan took charge to push the High Speed Hitters at match point, 24-22.
In the following play, rookie Jessa Ordiales’ attack sailed wide, sealing the victory for PLDT.
Up next for the High Speed Hitters will be Japanese guest team Kobe Shinwa University Monday, Aug. 25, at the same venue.
