Jen Nierva is excited to be back with the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, hoping to go another deep run in the 2025 PVL Invitational.
Jen Nierva was still all smiles even after her return game with Chery Tiggo didn’t go as planned.
The Alas libero, who rejoined the Crossovers fresh from her stint with the National team, shared that she was thrilled to finally reunite with her PVL club.
That’s even if her comeback game in the 2025 PVL Invitational ended in a tough three-set defeat to the PLDT High Speed Hitters on Thursday, August 21, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig.
“I’m so happy to be back, honestly. Sarap sa pakiramdam na makasama ko sila sa loob ng court,” Nierva told One Sports.
Nierva, along with other Alas Pilipinas Women, was cleared to rejoin their respective PVL teams by the PNVF even before the national team period ended.
The returning libero showed no signs of letting up as she anchored Chery Tiggo’s floor defense with 18 excellent digs and nine excellent receptions.
However, Nierva was candid about her dissatisfaction with their overall showing.
“Hindi ko alam kung nawala ba ‘yung connection ko with them kasi for me hindi ako satisfied with how our team performed today,” said Nierva.
“I think nagkaroon kami ng benchmark nung naglaro kami sa championship, so I was hoping na maipakita ulit namin kung ano ‘yung grit na pinakita namin nung championship, but maybe hindi pa nakaka-recover ‘yung mga katawan.”
Chery Tiggo, which settled for a silver medal finish in the PVL on Tour just last week, dropped to 1-1 in the Invitational standings after bowing to the same PLDT side that denied them the title.
Nierva will look to find her connection once more with the Crossovers as they look to get back on track against the Creamline Cool Smashers on Saturday, August 23.
