PLDT showed no signs of a championship hangover after blanking Chery Tiggo, 25-16, 25-14, 25-20, in the 2025 PVL Invitational at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City Thursday, Aug. 21.

The rematch of the PVL on Tour Finals saw a much different outcome as the High Speed Hitters were in control for most of the match.

Their biggest challenge came in the third set, where the Crossovers managed to keep in step, even taking the lead at 18-20 after Shaya Adorador’s service ace.

But PLDT would retaliate with a blazing 7-0 run, led by Mika Reyes and Angge Alcantara, to turn it around. Jessey De Leon sealed the victory with a cross-court attack, finding an open spot in the back row.

The High Speed Hitters moved to 2-0, while the Crossovers dropped to 1-1 due to the results carrying over from the PVL on Tour semifinals.

PLDT takes on Cignal next on Saturday, Aug. 23, at the same venue.
