In 18 conferences in the PVL, the Creamline Cool Smashers have yet to finish outside the top 3.

Following their the PVL on Tour run, that incredible feat stayed the same after the Cool Smashers swept the Cignal HD Spikers, 25-17, 29-27, 25-17, in the battle for bronze at the Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday, August 17.

For veteran spiker Michele Gumabao, the achievement is a reminder of the Cool Smashers' unmatched consistency even after a rocky preseason campaign.

“Every season is different. We can't really rely on kung sino kami our past season or kung sino kami our last game,” Gumabao said during the post-game press conference.

“At the end of the day, it also has never been done. So to be consistent is also one of the hardest things to do. I think madali magpanalo, madali mag-champion but to do it over and over again is also the hardest thing.”

Team captain Alyssa Valdez echoed Gumabao’s sentiments, stressing that the Cool Smashers’ culture of teamwork and stability truly defines their dynasty.

“This bronze medal match doesn’t define Creamline,” Valdez emphasized. “What we’ll take away is that everybody—from players to coaches and management—kept working together.”

“Every game is worth celebrating, and we’re just happy we’re celebrating it as a family,” she added.

While Creamline fell short of a championship for a second straight tournament, both Valdez and Gumabao believe the podium streak should fuel their hunger for the upcoming Invitational Conference.

“Maybe we fell short this time, but definitely we're gonna be very competitive and push each other to be better pa rin talaga in the coming conferences,” said Valdez.
