Despite taking a new path in her volleyball career, there will be a lot of familiarity for Alleiah Malaluan as she joins the ranks of the PLDT High Speed Hitters as the no. 9 pick of the 2025 PVL Draft.

Admitting she was headed for her “dream team,” Malaluan will have a handful of fellow Lady Spikers welcoming her with open arms in the pros.

That is, the PLDT High Speed Hitters are home multiple La Salle stars, all of whom will be eager to take Malaluan under their wing as she takes the big step into the PVL.

Two of them were actually present during draft night, with Kianna Dy and Majoy Baron among those who ushered in Malaluan.

Along with setter Kim Fajardo, Malaluan will hope to utilize the La Sallian connection with her new teammates.

“To be honest, I’m really grateful and sobrang mina-manifest ko talaga mag PLDT kasi aminin ko yun yung dream team ko. I’m just really happy and I’m out of words right now,” said an ecstatic Malaluan after being drafted.

“Actually it’s a huge help [to have my La Salle teammates there] kasi yung sisterhood namin nandoon, kasama ko yung La Salle ates mas magiging comfortable ako and I know that I’ll be ok with the team,” she added.

Having experienced success in the collegiate scene, Malaluan and the rest of the La Salle contingent will be working to bring the same level of winning to PLDT, after the team fell short multiple times of reaching the summit in the PVL.

Of course, the biggest piece of the puzzle for PLDT is still Fil-Canadian hitter Savi Davison.

As she aims to be Davison’s latest supporting cast member in the High Speed Hitters, Malaluan is eager to make things worth it for her newest teammate.

“Actually during [nung time na] nasa La Salle pa ako nagtu-tune up kami sa kanila,” said Malaluan, spekaing of PLDT.

“Nakikita ko na siya and super nilu-look forward ko rin makipaglaro with [Savi], isa din siya as tinitignan ko as idols sa PVL.”

Apart from Malaluan, PLDT also drafted in the second round, securing Zenneth Irene Perolino from Enderun Colleges.
