The Choco Mucho Flying Titans thwarted the late challenge of the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, 25-9, 25-23, 20-25, 25-17, for an early lead in the 2024 PVL All-Filipino Conference at the PhilSports Arena on Saturday night.

Sisi Rondina continued to carry the cudgels with 23 points anchored on 21 attacks and two aces, to go along with 13 excellent receptions.

Kat Tolentino provided ample support with 17 markers built on four blocks as she fortified the wall with Maddie Madayag, who collected six denials in a 10-point showing.

Mars Alba made her presence felt as well, fanning out 20 excellent sets on top of 10 digs and five markers. She continued to step up as the main playmaker as Deanna Wong played limited minutes.

The Flying Titans outperformed the Crossovers on all fronts, posting a 54-43 spike differential, a 12-9 block gap, and a 6-5 serve disparity.

It was a collective effort for Choco Mucho, which head coach Dante Alinsunurin attributed to the work ethic of his wards.

Ara Galang paced the losing cause with 14 points and six receptions.

Eya Laure poured out a triple-double of 13 markers, 12 digs and 11 receptions that went for naught as Chery Tiggo fell to a 2-1 card.

Choco Mucho will have 11 days of rest before plunging back into action versus Cignal on March 14, Thursday, at the same Pasig venue.

Chery Tiggo, on the other hand, will try to get back on winning track when it takes on Farm Fresh on March 9, Saturday, at the FilOil EcoOil Arena.
