Don't call yourself a fan if you can't respect the game and the players.
Aby Maraño is not the type of player to back away from any challenge, and she's not one to tolerate disrespect either.
In a recent Facebook post, the former captain of the recently-disbanded F2 Logistics Cargo Movers called out fans spreading hate in the local volleyball community.

"I hope you value respect. This page is not your page to disrespect me. May edad na ho kayo, sana hindi kayo nagpapasimula ng hate sa mundo," Maraño said.
Apparently, some followers of the sport are not fond of the way Maraño is emotional and intense inside the court.
"Wala rin naman akong ginawang personal na masama sa inyo. So why are you so affected about the style of my game? May share po ba kayo sa sakripisyo at paghihirap ko sa court. If wala naman, just stay on your ground. 2024 na next month. Sana tumatanda tayo ng may kinatatandaan."
The former La Salle Lady Spikers middle blocker also lashed out on elder fans who she said are not good examples.
"Same goes to those people na masyado kami inaagrabyado sa bawat comments. Nakakalungkot marami pa naman sa inyo matatanda na. Dapat kayo ang nagiging maganda ehemplo," she added.
"Kapag mga favorite nyo ho na players nag aangas at nagyayabang sa court okay lang? Pag kami ho bawal? Educate yourselves too that what we do inside the court is the fruit of all the hardship we put day in and day out. So when we celebrate with angsts and express our emotions from creating a precious point, sana ibigay nyo na sa amin ‘yon. Every point counts. We value every single point we make."
Maraño is worried about the future of Philippine volleyball and the upcoming stars of the way some fans disrespect the players.
Ultimately, the 30-year-old veteran just wants the scene to have healing, and veer away from the. detrimental attitude.
"I just hope this volleyball world heals in the future. Pa-toxic nang pa-t ang mga fans as if you know everything we are going through just so we can perform the sport as part of your entertainment. Paano na lang kaya ibang aspiring athletes kung ganito ang culture na aabutan? Mga fans na walang respeto at grabe mangyurak sa pagkatao ng mga manlalaro."
For sure the real fans and all athletes are backing Tyang Aby in this fight. There's no place for hate, disrespect, and negativity in sports.
