TNT sustained a hot start on its way to a 110-87 win over San Miguel in Game 4 of the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup Finals at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay Wednesday, Jan. 28.

On a night when San Miguel centerpiece June Mar Fajardo copped his 13th Best Player of the Conference, the Tropang 5G rained on his parade as they held him scoreless in the first quarter.

With Fajardo limited, TNT raced to a 35-18 start and never let up to tie the series at two games apiece.

Calvin Oftana caught fire with 29 points built on five triples to lead the way for the Tropang 5G. Jordan Heading backstopped him with 17 points.

Fajardo eventually tallied a double-double of 18 points and 16 rebounds, but his efforts were not enough.

TNT can regain the lead when the two teams collide in Game 5 Friday, Jan. 30, at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.

Like most sportswriters, Jan Ballesteros once dreamed of becoming a professional hooper. But he learned the hard way that it’s not for everyone.

He continues to be involved in the sport he loves, but this time as a member of the PBA Press Corps. Aside from primarily covering the PBA, he is also assigned to cover Gilas Pilipinas.
