Rey Nambatac is motivated to see action in the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup Finals after missing the finale last season due to an injury.
To say that Rey Nambatac is excited to see action in the PBA Season 50 Philippine Cup Finals is an understatement.
After sitting out last season’s All-Filipino duel between TNT and San Miguel because of groin injury, Nambatac said he is determined to help the Tropang 5G fire back at the Beermen this time around.

“Yea may gigil din kahit papano. Pero 'yung gigil na 'yun parang excited ako at the same time na makalaro uli sa Finals,” Nambatac told One Sports at the end of the Finals press conference Monday, Jan. 19.
“San Miguel uli makakalaban, parang motivation na wala ako last conference. Sila tumigil sa mga pangarap naming [Grand Slam]. Maraming factors para ma-motivate ako.”
Now that he is back in tip top form, the former Finals Most Valuable Player is hopeful he can make a big impact as the Tropang 5G aim to snatch the crown from the Beermen.
“Ito nga healthy, physically fit naman. I hope and pray na malaki magiging impact ko sa finals na ‘to. 'Yun main goal ko rin ngayong series,” he said.
Nambatac and TNT jumpstart the best-of-seven finale on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at the Ynares Sports Center in Antipolo.
Tipoff is at 7:30pm.

He continues to be involved in the sport he loves, but this time as a member of the PBA Press Corps. Aside from primarily covering the PBA, he is also assigned to cover Gilas Pilipinas.
